The Kwadrat Theatre is a well-known and well-liked comedy theater based in Warsaw, Poland. The concept for the logo and the whole identity was inspired by the name of the institution (kwadrat means square in polish). Letters of the word "teatr" (eng. theatre) are arranged in a square shape.
The composition was dynamized by a simple animation - the letters switch off and light up, they change their places - it's reminiscent of the city neon signs from the 60s and 70s.
The name Kwadrat/Square suggests order, balance. Despite this it was used for the comedy theater. Therefore, on promotional materials (like posters, animations, brochures, etc.) shape is treated in funny way - without a ruler, strict mathematics and measured distances.
